Mini Ftops

Just so you don't think I imagine it, very standard shove with an M of less than 10. The blinds have just constantly had a hand this week. This was about 300 from the money, 9000 players started the tournament.

Flushes

These are the first 4 hands I pretty much played today from 2 mtts. The first are during a rebuy period. The next 2 a FT $26 mtt.

Hopefully I will start my run good in the Mini-Ftops.

Supernova

I am running so bad this month. Maybe because I was making the push for the 100k VPPs. It just seemed that everytime I shove in a normal spot I am running into the top of players ranges. It is very discouraging. I did make supernova today and lost only $100 which is so annoying. This one sng I dominated so well I screen shot the hand history overview.

99926.29

My total VPPs guess my first set tomorrow I will make it SN for another year. It is such a grind that I wonder if it is worth it or am I better off playing on multiple sites making more money. It would be almost impossible for me to get 200k points in a year at the volume and levels I play.

Tired today

Didn't play too much, tried some cash again. Played 4 tables, 2 meh, 1 up $150 and one sigh.

This first hand was fun, typical of my cash play.

The worst thing about this hand is gave him chips to stack me later.

I shouldn't play/post when I am tired. Got into another hand with the above donkey. Flatted with T9s after a $6 preflop raise and a caller. Above idiot calls behind. Flop came TT6, Turn was a 7 which gave me some added outs if I needed them. Got it all in on the turn and same guy has KT. GG me. Better to feed the donkeys than the good players at least.

Turning it around

Played 1 set of $16s before dinner. I played them since one of the guys I stake was just starting playing a set of $27s and $38s. If I can i will try to avoid playing against players I stake and coach.

manhat10ite 17 $22.12 $15 138% $376

I will win an 80-20 again just not today.

I should have taken those first few hands as an omen of what was to come. 3 losses with big pairs in 80-20s is pretty depressing especially when winning the hands gives you good stacks to make runs. The worst was in the $215 QQ to JJ he rivered the jack. After a day of work I had a min cash in something, not even sure what. I am still in a PLO8 aproaching the money but not a huge stack.

Cash was the bright side of the day again. There is a promotion on Full Tilt where if you play 2 raked tables at a time 25 days this month you get a free $50. I have never been one to turn down free money. I love making the weak river lead here http://www.pokerhand.org/?4666550 always fun. I have made more money doing that than just about anything else in cash.

Looks like I have a good shot of bubbling the PLO8. I didn't bubble it, finished 10 out of the money instead.
I am planning on playing a bunch of MTTs today including the $215 wcoop event in a couple of hours. I was registering and saw this $1.00 hyper turbo satellite and figured I would play it. I hope my first hand http://www.pokerhand.org/?4663908 isn't an omen for the rest of the day. Sigh, now the last hand before the end of rebuy period. http://www.pokerhand.org/?4663934

I hope this great run of mine will end today in a big way. At least it can't get worse. http://www.pokerhand.org/?4663939

I like to start my games so that I will be awake if I make deep runs. I will rarely start a tournament after 6PM. I may today depending on what I am in. Along with some minor tournaments below is a list of everything I am likely to be playing. The Sunday brawl is the one thing I may skip since my bankroll isn't enough to really play 2 $200+ mtts in a day.

180s and Cake

Found this in my browser this morning, typed most of it out last night and fell asleep.

Played about 20 180s with 1 min cash. Sigh. I then went to play on Cake some cash, I almost never play there but had the client open since someone asked me for a trade earlier in the day. NLO8 which I sat at by mistake. One hand I had of note was QJT9 on a 9T4 flop. It was raised pre so I had the guy on a hand like A23x or AA2x something like that. I pot the flop for about $18 in a $100 buy in. He flats. Turn is a J a decent card for me since it is super unlikly he has KQxx given the action. So we get it all in. He called my flop bet with A2KQ, sigh. Then someone in the chat says they had one of the jacks. Weeeeeeeeee, 2 outed. Good news is the play was bad, bad news is the play was good in a bad way.

That was a $100 buy in. In a $200 buy in NL ring game I was up $114 so a small gain on the site.

Very late last night/early this morning a player I have backed on and off for almost a year finished 2nd in a 28k on Full Tilt for about $4000. I am really happy for him, he bubbled a couple of final tables recently and I know his hard work will pay off with a lot more wins in his future.

Playing cash

Decided to 4 table some 1-2 NL full ring games while waiting for Robin and Liberty to return home before going to the pool. I used to play a lot of cash, pretty much exclusively for years on Pokerroom and then full tilt. My game is very different playing much more position and looser than I would in a SNG. This hand is a good example of my play in cash games. http://www.pokerhand.org/?4661791 Obviously I don't always go runner runner, but would have shut it down on the turn if the 7 didn't hit.

Hands like this are very reassuring when I am on a bad run. Not that I like to see someone elses run bad, but it makes me feel like I am not alone. http://www.pokerhand.org/?4661828

I can't tell you how many bad plays I see atributed to players protecting their $2. Yes, he could have AA but that is the only hand I am worried about here. http://www.pokerhand.org/?4661993

No going to the pool, Liberty has an earache, she has been caughing all week. A good session in cash, up $466 in a 90 minutes.

Tilt sucks

At this point I am totally tilted and throwing out money with every shove I make. I feel like I am damned if I do, damned if I don't. Such a terrible feeling when grinding sngs. The worst is that I have been really testy at the tables and probably owe an apology to a couple of players(AcerUT for one). Oh well, nothing I can really do but play through it. I was running well this morning and then things started turning South. I didn't stick to my game plan of playing sets from beginning to end. The higher buyins take so much longer to load it is hard not playing continously. I am still in some games so hopefully it won't all end in disaster today(Just lost 2 more flips in a row)

This is the last hand of the set. http://www.pokerhand.org/?4661609 I had just made a super common shove and ran QJs into AKs who flopped a flush the hand before. I know I just have to play through this and am glad I only lost $115 this session.

The bleeding is slowing

I didn't play that many tonight, 33 down $87 very exceptable. I am playing fine, making good decisions, just hard to beat the donks right now. The difference between breaking even or loosing in $87 in 33 games is 1 70-30 going your way or against you. I am still having multiple ones going against me. The cool thing is I always know when variance goes in my direction, which it will, I will have some killer sessions.

Figuring out a horrible poker day

My previous 24 hours of play have been by far my worst ever. I lost with my big pairs and couldn't seem to win the 70-30s and 60-40s where I kept getting my money in ahead.

manhat10ite 180 -$7.2 $22 -26% -$1,296

This is very unusual for me to say the least. The volume is also pretty high, normally I am under 100 games for 24 hours. I am sure this also led to numerous losses. My 2 sets after the sharkscope search were much better going back to 12-13 games mixing $16 and $27 buy ins. A lot of players focus on volume to get VPPs I was doing a little of this since I am so close to supernova, about 3000 points away. This imo is a pretty silly way to lose a grand and hopefully I won't repeat it any time soon.

The good news of the day, my favorite crazy Canadian horse won about $700 for me last night so the day wasn't a total loss.

Today I am going to the Delaware river with my family.

September 3rd

This will be my first post in what I hope to be a daily update of my poker/life activity. Yesterday was a pretty poor day as far as poker goes. I had a break even set of about 30-40 games and then a losing set where I was down $600. The $38 18 players for whatever reason I am having a lot of trouble beating. In part because they start so infequently so it is hard to get to know the players and have a decent sample size.
